The refuge, built in a fantastic natural amphitheatre and surrounded by peaks with an outstanding beauty, has organized in the last years, in co-operation with the tourist office of the region Trento and the local seat of the SAT, several events attracting hundreds of tourists into the heart of the Catinaccio mountain group.




Dawn in the Dolomites - 1st August 2007

After the success of the first dawn observation in the Dolomites near to our refuge in summer 2005, with the participation of the artists Lella Costa and Paolo Freju, this year we organize the second edition on 1 st August at 6 o'clock in the morning, with the participation of Davide Riondino and Gianluca Putrella.

100th anniversary of the refuge (1906 – 2006) - 24th September 2006 A special event, with the collaboration of the SAT of Pozza di Fassa, was organized for celebrate the 100 th anniversary of the refuge, built in the Hapsburg time by a South Tyrolean section of the association of Austrian and German alpinists and once named “Ostertaghütte”. The celebration started with a mass followed by concerts of the choir “Valfassa” and the music band of Pozza di Fassa. After the authorities' speech and before lunch, were the previous refuge hosts honoured with a prize.

In this occasion presented the journalist Marco Benedetti the book of the refuge's 100 th anniversary celebration. The author described in this book the essential stages of the “Roda di Vael”, not only nominating and writing about the diverse refuge hosts and the famous guests, but also about the most fundamental steps of the regional political history of these times.

Dawn in the Dolomites - 2005

In occasion of the first edition of the „Dawn in the Dolomites“, near our refuge, quite a lot of people met together. The names of the artists Lella Costa and Paolo Freju attracted many spectators approaching along the path in the early morning hours, for participating at this event. In the rocky basin, just above the refuge, on the base of the Majarè peaks, began at six o'clock the monologue of Lella Costa accompanied by the trumpet of Paolo Freju. The crystal clear sky contributed to make a deep impression on everyone present on this event.

13th meeting „Lies Ladines da Mont“ - 19 th June 2005

Right after the beginning of the season opening, were the new hosts of the refuge challenged in their new work by the event of the 13 th meeting of the “Lies Ladines da Mont” (meeting of the Ladin sections of the CAI-SAT.AVS), organized by the SAT of Pozza. This event attracted some hundreds of people, who took place in the meadows in front of the refuge.
